The purpose of this project was: (1) to better understand the factors contributing to variation in the community benefit and safety net activities reported by Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs); (2) to recommend policy and/or other strategies to support CAHs and State Flex Programs in carrying out community benefit activities that meet the health care and safety net needs of their local communities.
